Q. What is #CUNYTUESDAY?

#CUNYTUESDAY is a day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. #CUNYTUESDAY is an initiative of CUNY to benefit the students at our 25 colleges.


Q. When is #CUNYTUESDAY?

#CUNYTUESDAY is on Dec. 3 2019, from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.


Q. Who can donate?

Anyone may donate. Donations are tax-deductible and can’t be refunded. Contributions may be made via credit and debit card only. Donations will be received and receipted by GiveGab.


Q. What is GiveGab?

GiveGab is a nonprofit giving platform that helps nonprofit organizations raise money, engage donors and manage volunteers quickly and efficiently. GiveGab offers a full portfolio of simple and easy-to-use products that allow organizations to function in a more streamlined manner.


Q. I’m currently a student, how can I get involved?

You can go to your college’s #CUNYTUESDAY page (search here) and look for Ambassador opportunities and ways to use your social media contacts to spread the word.


Q. If I am a faculty or staff member, can I participate?

Yes! The Chancellor has invited all CUNY employees to participate in #CUNYTUESDAY. You can donate online using a credit or debit card or through payroll deduction.


Q. How will donations be distributed?

Each donation made to a participating college will be disbursed directly from GiveGab via direct deposit within 24-48 hours.


Q. How much of my donation goes to the college?

Credit-card processing fees apply at 2.2% + $0.30 per donation. You are given the option to cover the fees, and if you choose this option, 100% of your online charitable gift will go to the receiving organization. All donations are final and can’t be refunded.


Q. Who will receive my contact information?

The school you choose to support will have access to your name and email address. This information is used solely to send thank-you messages, provide the option to receive future notifications, and to notify you of future activities.


Q. Do I need to create an account with GiveGab?

No. You do not need to create an account to make a donation. However, the benefits of creating an account include having your tax receipts collected in one location, being able to track your donations, following the school you support, and engaging in future volunteering and donation campaigns. Your tax receipt is emailed immediately upon the processing of your donation. To claim a donation as a deduction on U.S. taxes, you should retain the donation receipt as an official record.


Q. Can I make donations via a mobile device?

Yes! Simply visit www.cunytuesday.org on your mobile device.


Q. Can I give before or after Dec. 3, 2019?

Yes! Online giving will open on Nov. 4 and the site will continue accepting donations until Dec. 31, 2019.
